Lauren Tyler Scott – “I’m Insane”

//

Escalating from smoky suaveness into anthemic rock outpouring, “I’m Insane” is a memorable new track from Lauren Tyler Scott. The laid-back, lounge-friendly allure in the verses touts a jazzy, trip-hop charm. “I was burned by fire before I lit the flame,” Scott sings, followed by added guitar flourishes that evolve steadily into the passionate title-referencing chorus. The confessional chorus contrasts enjoyably, reflective of the conveyed feeling; the track maintains a steady, climactic quality between the moody verses and rousing escalation.

Scott elaborates on the track: “I wrote this song about the many contradictions of life, and I wanted to represent those contradictions sonically as well as lyrically, which is why there is such genre bending and variation throughout each section.”

This track and others featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of April 2022’ Spotify playlist.
