The melodic debut single from duo Lone Lake, “Stop The Time” consumes with its savvy pop retrospection. Christina Cavazos’ vocals exude a passionate yearning from the opening. “I wanna go see another life, would you start the car?” she asks, accompanied by a haunting organ presence and eventual lo-fi percussion.

The hooky “see it all,” refrain moves seamlessly from the verses, the dream-pop enamoring of the synth tones continuing to engage. A further bolstered, title-referencing refrain plays hypnotically into the satisfying conclusion. Charlie Magnone’s production pairs beautifully with Cavazos’ vocal work throughout, with captivating songwriting from both on display.

Per the duo, the track “explores the liminal. Caught between the future and the past, leaving and staying, changing and remaining the same. A perpetual present where time is stopped and all possibilities exist at once.”

This track and others featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of April 2022’ Spotify playlist.
