A thoroughly convincing debut single from Palomino Joyride, “In Due Time” conjures a dreamy charm in its nocturnal guitar jangles and escalating vocal presence.
The Portland (OR)-based project emits a nostalgic pull, reminiscent of early ’90s fusing of shoegaze/dream-pop and alternative-rock, somewhere in the vein of Smashing Pumpkins and My Bloody Valentine. Jonah Poole’s lead vocals masterfully shift from laid-back intrigue and enthused passion, especially upon the “did you even hear my voice?” climax. This hazily melodic track has me firmly looking forward to the band’s upcoming EP.
