Briana Piedra – “It Was Always You”

/

A new track from Los Angeles-based artist Briana Piedra, “It Was Always You” touts an atmospheric production, emitting a vein of soulful pop that captures Briana’s vocal and songwriting abilities. A sporadic bass pulse and glistening keys craft a compelling soundscape, particularly as the vocals escalate upon the “even after what you said,” rise into the title-referencing hook. The central hook produces a replay-inducing engrossment, shimmering and entrancing.

“‘It Was Always You’ is a very ambient and nostalgic r&b song,” Briana says. “I’m so proud and still in awe of how this song came about. This song is extremely close to my heart and every time I listen to it I’m reminded of my inner strength and my ability to overcome any obstacle.”

Originally from Portland, Oregon, Briana started her career in 2019 with the debut single “Something to Believe In.” Her first 2022 release came in April with her upbeat single “CRAVE” in April, now followed up by “It Was Always You.”

This track and others featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of August 2022’ Spotify playlist.
