Possessor – “Sleepwalker”

/

Dark synth-pop brooder “Sleepwalker” is a recent track from Possessor, the Los Angeles-based duo of Blaze Powers and Jonathan Bonilla. Menacing lyrical imagery — “staring into the mouth of a viper,” — finds apt accompaniment alongside the pulsing synth arp, tonally fit for moonlit dancing.

A haunting croon past the one-minute turn sends chills, playing well amidst the sturdy arp-laden backbone and eerie synth twinkles. Fitting for the incoming autumnal months, “Sleepwalker” is a memorably atmospheric and dark synth-pop success from Possessor.

“Sleepwalker” comes via Possessor’s Fatal Fixations EP:

This track and others featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of September 2022’ Spotify playlist.
