Denni Ian – “So This Is How We Dance”

/

“So This Is How We Dance” is a tender, powerful track from Denni Ian, the Danish artist who has impressed previously with tracks like “Killer Whales” and “Two Figures.” A solemn piano lead complements a gravelly vocal lead for a vulnerable allure reminiscent of an understated The National. The eventual introduction of strings, amidst vocal reflections of “two figures searching for love,” plays with poignancy and resonance.

The track’s music video is a captivating accompaniment. Shot at a Danish renaissance mansion undergoing reconstruction, there’s a sense of lingering solitude in the monochromatic cinematography. With shades of The National and Nick Cave lingering in its ballad aestheitc, “So This Is How We Dance” is another stirring output from Denni Ian.
