J’Moris – “Jelly”

A shoutout to those envious of talent, “Jelly” is the latest from J’Moris, the Hillsboro, TX-based rapper whose hypnotic and driving hip-hop sound has impressed in the past with tracks like “Being Humble” and “Activated.”

Hot off this year’s album Moris Better: Loveless Confessions, J’Moris continues a stellar 2022 with this lushly intriguing success. An eerie key-laden charm falls into the snappy beat and J’Moris’ suave vocal delivery, stressing “oh you jelly that’s a no-no, that’s a you thing.” The lyrics compel in shouting away the haters and focusing on personal success, ignoring all the times you’ve been “slept on.”

“Jelly” is a continuation of J’Moris’ melodic, sharp-cutting hip-hop prowess. I’m looking forward to seeing another fruitful year for the artist in 2023.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of November 2022’ Spotify playlist.
