From their new EP of the same name, “Automatic Age” is a catching track from EWEB, a trio from Eugene, Oregon. A steady bass pulse builds into hazy guitar additives. Lyrics convey morning routines and facing “the grey,” — with the reference to impending time-passing complemented by several blasts of guitar-fronted vigor. The tactful guitar jangles adorn the subsequent verses, with the vocals commenting “you’re easy to replace.” The “mechanized animal,” lead-in invigorates here too, with the track in general showcasing the band’s commanding, melodic songwriting and tonal variety.
