missilkid – “David Stole My Ride”

//

“David Stole My Ride” is a suave rocker from the new artist missilkid. Not much is known about the project beyond its Nashville origins and sturdy rock composure, easily immersing here with a no-frills engagement.

An impressive debut from missilkid, “David Stole My Ride” consumes in its lyrical depictions of an increasingly outcast sentiment alongside heady guitar work. “All his friends that he had before are gone,” the vocals let out amidst the chirpy guitar lead. “It’s all okay because he likes to be alone.” The central chorus — “takin’ off on his own, David stole my ride,” — excels with the thumping rhythmic pauses and guitar crunches, concocting a hooky replay-inducing pull.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of April 2023’ Spotify playlist.
