Radiolarian – “No Signs of Life”

/

Producing a reverberating rock sound with sci-fi influence, Portland (OR)-based band Radiolarian show their strengths with new single “No Signs of Life,” which describes “arriving at an alien world unlike any seen before.”

Spacey guitar buzzing drives passionately into the soaring vocal work past the one-minute turn. Brass-like flickering approaching the second minute lends a stimulating hypnotic impact, reminiscent of Flaming Lips’ Embryonic-era textural hypnosis. And certainly, the vocal intensity echoes a sort of Thom Yorke-esque enthrallment. Overall though, “No Signs of Life” grips with its own uniquely dark, spacey rock allure.
