Jim Loeffler’s Electric Orbit – “Clocks on the Wheels”

/

A gripping, no-frills rock ‘n’ roll allure is evident on “Clocks on the Wheels,” the new track from Jim Loeffler’s Electric Orbit. The Pittsburgh-based artist handles all instruments apart from drums, and takes inspiration from a variety of classic greats, from The Beatles and The Rolling Stones to Deep Purple and Oasis.

“Clocks on the Wheels” represents the third single from his forthcoming album. “The album has one foot in the past (my childhood) and one foot in the future (my son and how he and his friends make their way in the world),” Loeffler says.

Per the artist, the track “is about the promise of youth and the anticipation that comes with being in love.” A fun and raucous youthful energy is certainly apparent from the get-go. Blistering guitar tones resonate amidst lyrics reflecting the drive to “go faster,” and a “there ain’t no rules,” proclamation. The steady vocal confidence and vigor-filled guitars are reflective of excitable heart-beats and energy, punctuated by stellar guitar lines approaching the final minute. “Clocks on the Wheels” is a blast of a rocker.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of July 2023’ Spotify playlist.
