A.N.J.A. – “Stimulation”

/

An invigorating rock energy impresses throughout “Stimulation,” a new single that excels in its muscle-y guitar distortion alongside both anthemic vocal rises and debonair set-back builds. The track comes via A.N.J.A., a German-born and Belfast-based singer. The byproduct of a collaboration with sound engineer Jack McGarry, “Stimulation” will be part of the forthcoming EP The Season Of Evil, releasing in November.

A relentless bevvy of distorted guitar layers stir in combination with the shifting vocal enthusiasm, relaying lyrics that convey the artist’s struggles with “inescapable virtual realities, social media, the abyss of the human mind and the dangers of artificial intelligences.” “I really, really want to know,” the more understated vocal presence exudes, buzzing guitars backing proudly. The one-minute turn sees an ardent uptick in vocal passion — “hear what you’re waiting for,” into an invigorating scream. “Stimulation” proves riveting in its heavy rock passion and timely societal themes.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of September 2023’ Spotify playlist.

We discovered this release via MusoSoup, as part of the artist’s promotional campaign.
