Safezonefire – “Emery”

Stirring in its range from nocturnal spaciousness to thunderous distorted guitars, “Emery” is the new single from Safezonefire. The elusive project shows a fierce rock-forward power throughout. The morose initial vocals are beautifully accompanied by patient guitar murmurs, arising into a warming distortion-forward envelopment prior to the one-minute turn. The clanging percussion and soaring vocal composure invigorate here, concocting a ’90s alt-rock nostalgia with a wistful reminiscing. The track’s striking tonal peaks and valleys prove wholly compelling.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of September 2023’ Spotify playlist.
