Bambii Lamb – “overstimulated”

/

Impressing already this year with singles like “Own Damn Feelings” and “thread,” “overstimulated” is another aesthetical and melodic success from Gainesville-based artist Bambii Lamb. Suave bossa-nova and a throwback pop charm intertwine with observations of modern tumult, escalating into a stutter-y vocal feeling with intriguing electronic/rock convergence. The track comes via Lamb’s upcoming album Anatomical Venus, releasing in 2024.

“I’m overstimulated,” the vocals let out during the swelling chorus, easing back into the laid-back qualities while admitting “adrenaline is kicking in, yet I still feel like I’m sinking.” The track proves powerful in how modern society prompts overthinking, over-tinkering, and — ultimately — over-stimulations. The “god, I fucking hate it,” observation excels into the textured buzzing adornment, where the stutter-y vocals arise for a melodically absorbing impact, and into a final dash of lushly inviting guitars to close this stellar track out.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of October 2023’ Spotify playlist.

We discovered this release via MusoSoup, as part of the artist’s promotional campaign.
