Saltwater Tap – “The Housesitter”

/

Chicago-based project Saltwater Tap struts smooth, soulful sound on “The Housesitter” — lamenting “I’ve been living alone,” amidst gentle guitar jangles and playful, funk-laden synth insertions. The hazy, contemplative character engrosses throughout, from the emotive vocal refrain to bluesy guitar licks rounding the three-minute turn.

Saltwater Tap, propelled by the duo of Garen Hudson and Taylor Vos, stir with “The Housesitter,” which marks their first single after a hiatus. “It’s meant to capture the feeling of oscillating between states of hyper-productivity and depression/isolation,” they explain. “The repetitiveness of the lyric is intentional.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of October 2023’ Spotify playlist.
