A new single from Cool Company, “Know It’s Real” struts a soulful escalation — expanding from calming contemplation into a soaring vocal adoring: “take what I can get, until there’s nothing left.” Lush acoustics and eventual clap-laden percussion complement the ensuing verses, where the vocals resemble a more spoken-word enamoring. Smatterings of keys combine with bird-chirping for a warming, inviting conclusion.
The track represents the final single before the project’s upcoming album. Per the act, the release “llustrates that without vulnerability, there’s no path to experiencing the highs + lows of life, both of which are blessings. So while escapes may be nice, there’s a comfort in what’s real, whether good or bad, that they could never emulate.”
