Devon Grace – “Losing Game”

/

Austin-based singer/songwriter Devon Grace reveals a hauntingly intimate sound on “Losing Game,” casting an eerie sense of melancholy and longing. “I wrote it about a girl I was in love with,” the artist says.

“It’s a losing game, nobody can win,” the ghostly vocals admit, sending chills alongside trickling guitars. “Yet here we are again, holding onto intangible beginnings.” Moody brass eases in during the riveting “I thought you knew better,” morose vocal captivation. Twinkling keys reflect vocals past the two-minute turn, adding to the wintry sense of retrospection throughout. Lower-pitched vocals entice further during the conclusion, with hip-hop percussion adding atmospheric depth. “Losing Game” is a showcase in atmosphere and emotive songwriting from Devon Grace.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
