Kevin Nichols – “Looking at The Ocean”

//

California-based artist Kevin Nichols shows a compelling rock sound on new single “Looking at The Ocean,” excelling in its reflections on complacency; “I don’t think looking at the ocean’s much of a life,” the vocals let out, concluding how for some life can just be a process of “waiting to die.”

An invigorating, anthemic rock swells captivates just prior to the mid-point, culminating the introspective musings with a sweltering vocal passion. “Why won’t the pain just stop? 210 foot drop, I know I’m not right,” they admit, gripping its sense of personal tumult within a tonally diverse and structurally climactic rock production.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
