Past Hours – “Street Lights”

/

Escalating from late-night guitar creakiness into a synth-touched anthemic expanse, “Street Lights” is the latest track from Past Hours, the project from songwriter and producer Lucy Pettitt. Written following a devastating break-up, “Street Lights” enamors in its satiating build-up — culminating in a range of starry-eyed synth adornments and wordless vocal soaring. The initial composure also impresses, with the steady guitar pulses and submerged vocals lending a dreamy intrigue into textural eruptions with intertwining dream-pop and shoegaze nostalgia.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
