Recess – “Faces”

/

NYC six-piece Recess strut their funky brand of charismatic pop on new track “Faces.” Suave guitar pulses and smooth vocals dazzle alongside flourishes of piano, reminding fondly of Steely Dan. Brassy emergences compel as the vocals admit “it’s been a long road,” amidst lonely nights.

“We may walk down different roads,” they acknowledge during a soaring captivation, culminating in triumphantly climactic brass tones. “Let’s have a couple good times,” furthers a carpe-diem sentimentality, valuing the time together whilst emphasizing the importance of cherishing oh-so-sweet moments in life. We’re excited to hear more from Recess.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
