The Rapports – “Hit Back”

/

A charismatic, infectious rock sound impresses on “Hit Back,” a single released today from The Rapports. The Brighton, UK-based band are gearing up an upcoming album for release in mid-2024, and “Hit Back” represents its second single. They describe its thematic aim as “about optimism – having something to believe in – and having the passion to stand up for it.”

“I’ll fight for you if you fight for me, only love will set you free,” the confident vocals let out during the rousing chorus, adorned by clanging guitar-forward ferocity. The “let loose,” suggestions in the ensuing verses escalate seamlessly into another compelling central hook, resonating in further desires to fight for oneself, their passions, and the ones they love. The four-piece thoroughly impress with their hooky rock appeal, melding a love for ’00s indie and ’90s Brit-pop into a contagious modern rock sound. Look out for a big 2024 from this rising act.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
