Lunde – “Tomorrow” + “Deja Vu”

/

Wisconsin-based trio Lunde impress on two recent singles — with “Tomorrow” presenting a piano-laden rock vibrancy, while “Deja Vu” intrigues with its hazy power-pop lingering.

“Tomorrow” enamors with its hooky blend of bouncy piano flourishes and rousing rock-guitar momentum, captivating especially during the “don’t waste my time,” sequence — incorporating the various instrumentation for an effervescent, replay-inducing appeal. Twangy guitars frolic amidst prancing piano balladry for an inviting conclusion. Additional vocals come via Luke Olson, of The Walters and I Love You So).

“Deja Vu” channels an equally melodic though more understated charm, admitting “I’ve been here before,” during a smoothly infectious hook with power-pop and hazy psychedelic appeal. Its lyrical emphasis on “feeling stuck in a cycle,” resonates alongside the beautifully dazed, harmonious production. Both these tracks have us firmly anticipating whatever’s next from Lunde.

These tracks and others featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
