Thomas Aren – “Xerox”

/

Expanding from tranquil introspection into a resonating rise, “Xerox” is a new single from Thomas Aren. The release began in collaboration with Cameron Winter, from the NYC-based band Geese. Winter sent Aren a demo instrumental, and Aren bolstered it with guitar, vocals, and other compelling adornments.

Lyrical reflections on a childhood ending, and ensuing weight on one’s shoulders, build climactically with percussive pit-pattering and murmuring guitar tones. “Time doesn’t wait for me or you,” the soaring vocals let out, with spacious guitar lines aligning well for a heady soundscape. The track compels with its tonal range and emotive ascension, marking a strong showing from Thomas Aren.

“Xerox” represents the lead single from an upcoming four-song EP. Check out the track’s music video, below:

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
