A Day in Venice – “Through the Embers of Hell”

/

Italian artist A Day in Venice captivates with a deliciously eerie alt-rock stirring on new single “Through the Embers of Hell,” meshing unsettling verses with a soaring vocal hookiness in the title-referencing central hook. Songwriter and producer Andrej Kralj has been playing under the moniker since 2013, and “Through the Embers of Hell” provides a peek at the project’s upcoming album, releasing this year.

A dripping bass-heavy resonance and “sun is on fire,” doomsday lyrical depictions craft an ample intrigue to start, building with satiating momentum. “The stars are winking at you,” the vocals further into an enveloping chorus, where brooding guitar distortion arises alongside the “through the embers of hell,” lengthened vocal composure. The grittier verses sound fit for nighttime contemplation, while the chorus bursts with a dreamy entrancement in the vocal delivery within affecting guitar layers. “Through the Embers of Hell” is a gripping output from A Day in Venice.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
