FICMARO – “Blur”

/

Originally from Toronto and now based in Miami, electronic artist FICMARO compels on new single “Blur.” The production builds with a grippingly climactic electronic dazzle, escalating from quaint synth trickles into vocal sample intrigue and heady rhythmic entrancement. A hypnotic house influence shows in the meditative rhythmic accompaniments especially, as the trickling synth stabs and clap-laden reverb intertwine with thoroughly replay-inducing charm.

The self-taught musician and composer impresses on melodic and atmospheric levels here, poignantly capturing the effect of “blurry filters,” — rendering things “softer, more dreamy, and romantic,” per the artist. “Life and its struggles take on a lighter tone, reminiscent of a Telenovelas soap-opera; where you just know that tomorrow will be yet another day of entertainment and you enjoying those characters in your life. That’s what this track, ‘Blur’, is all about.”

The wordless vocal effects are among the notable elements within the production. They emit a danceable charisma in their concise maneuvering, acting as a hectic source of infectiousness within the more consistent house-friendly instrumentation. “Blur” is a standout production from FICMARO.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Electronic.

We discovered this release via MusoSoup, as part of the artist’s promotional campaign.
