Youth Reserve – “Afterglow”

//

Dutch synth-pop duo Youth Reserve strut an infectious appeal on “Afterglow,” where a radiant vocal rise coincides seamlessly with charismatic synth bursts and a dreamy bridge into the ensuing verses. “Afterglow” kickstarts a busy year for the project, representing the first of six singles to be released throughout 2024 via Dutch label Amber Music.

“Take my heart and run,” the spirited vocals let out in the chorus. “Now I’m left in the afterglow.” The two-minute turn signals a catching shift, resembling driving quickly through neon-touched streets with its accelerated enthusiasm. The punchy central hook concludes subsequently; “Afterglow” cements itself as a replay-inducing success from Youth Reserve.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
