Cheap Monarchy – “Baby Come On!”

//

A hooky pop delight from Chicago-based act Cheap Monarchy, “Baby Come On!” melds lush guitar jangles and various vocal performances, including the addition of Chicago-based singer BC. “How are you feeling, babe?” BC asks, with the responsive “feeling good,” from the band traversing into squiggly synth bounces. A title-touting refrain takes hold thereafter, as the vocals admit to stop running away. “Baby Come On!” is a stellar success from Cheap Monarchy, balancing lush and excitable guitar tones alongside melodic vocal performances.

The band is poised to continue rising; they have a headlining gig at the House of Blues, and are presently working on recording their debut album with Chicago-based producer Roland Lim.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
