Jyme – “Campfire”

/

A soulful pop emotiveness engages on “Campfire,” a new single from Jyme. Morose vocal smoothness and a reflective bass line mesh enjoyably amidst trickling guitar tones. “You’re burning like a campfire,” the late-night vocals let out, with the “long road,” section following with a sparser guitar-fronted engrossment for climactic effect. The track’s understated drive into the “burning like a campfire,” hook consumes overall, and induces replays in its balance of easy-going immersion with palpably emotive yearning.

“Campfire” is a strong output from Jyme, who is originally from Portugal, and moved to California during childhood. He has been collaborating with producer and songwriter Dallas Austin since 2019, releasing an EP and several singles since then.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
