Lil Devil – “Eclipse” + “Analemma”

/

New York-based act Lil Devil show a memorable sound on two new singles, emphasizing accessible rock and more expansive psychedelia in their separate pursuits. Described as “about the lives you might have led,” “Eclipse” is exemplary of the project’s melodic chops. The “I feel something watching,” soaring vocal characteristics enamor, and there’s ample musicianship on display with the dynamics between the “a little look,” sophisti-pop stylings and the more rock-friendly fervency that follows.

Meanwhile, “Analemma” embraces a more psychedelic spectrum, musing on unrequited love and unattainability alongside an array of atmospheric saxophones, synth-laden intrigue, and lush acoustic guitars. Both tracks, with their strong songwriting and sense of structural momentum, show a project bound for a quick ascent.

These and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
