S AND R – ‘Honey, Look At My Face’ EP

/

S AND R thrills with a dynamic, emotive rock appeal on new EP, Honey, Look At My Face. The release’s enthralling title track is a captivating showcase of what to anticipate — specifically, a charged-up rock sound that develops from introspective “coffee table conversations,” into an ardently affecting rock sound with themes of self-discovery. The two-minute turn unveils a darker murkiness, as the vocals let out they’re still searching for a face they can “live with.” The momentum and passion is palpable throughout.

Another EP highlight, “Comfortable Truths” also builds with cohesive intrigue. Late-night guitar creaking complements vocals with house-building aspirations, feverishly escalating into an impassioned rock sound that explores identity and relationships. The EP is a showcase in quality songwriting and structural vigor from S AND R, comprising partners Saxon Kennedy and Reeve Pope alongside multi-instrumentalist Wen.

These and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
