zook – “Evaporating”

//

Nashville-based artist zook crafts a psych-minded vein of freak-folk with an electronic infusion on new single “Evaporation.” Coming via zook’s upcoming third album, the track exudes an glimmering airiness as calming vocals complement hazy synth washes and pit-pattering percussion. Aesthetically reminiscent of Damien Jurado’s synth-laden folk efforts, “Evaporating” is a wholly memorable single from zook. “Why should I worry?” a captivating refrain signals into a gorgeous hook, enjoyably capturing the production’s free-flowing beauty.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
