Modern Moxie – “Don’t Look at Me”

//

North Carolina-based rockers Modern Moxie reveal the third single from their upcoming EP with “Don’t Look at Me,” a confident and anthemic success exploring societal pressures faced by women — in day-to-day life and the music industry alike. An invigorating sense of self-discovery is apparent in the “even if we make it,” vocal rise, while warning not to be one’s “own snakebite,” in falling to certain pressures.

“Don’t look at me, I’m meditating!” the vocals exude with a punchy charisma, seamlessly traversing between contemplative verses and the raucously enjoyable chorus. “Don’t Look at Me” is a strong showing from Modern Moxie, catching our ears in the past with tracks like “Horizon” and “Big Wave.” Look out for their upcoming EP, Tripping the Light Fantastic.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
