Othering – “Best Intentions”

/

Dallas-based duo Othering succeed with dream-pop and shoegaze influence on new single “Best Intentions,” which specifically takes inspiration from “80s Spanish Rock bands like Soda Stereo and Los Prisioneros.” Hazy synth shimmering and murky guitar jangles drive into a nonchalant vocal feeling, embracing a post-punk feeling as well in their tonal direction. “Is this the light that fades? Is this the life I made?” the vocals ask, hypnotizing within the warming bass line and glistening guitar aspects. “Best Intentions” is a delight from Othering.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
