Provider – “Run Away”

/

A single released today from Chicago-based band Provider, “Run Away” struts a desire to “make it out tonight,” and escape from seemingly destined mundanity. A peppy rock sound enamors, scaling back as the vocals admit never wanting to return home; gripping guitar work follows, invoking an atmosphere and tone reminiscent of The War on Drugs. The title-touting briskness thereafter invokes a more pop-ready immediacy in its tonal ferocity and overall vibrancy. Look for the band’s upcoming album, Automatic Thoughts, in July.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
