Chatrooms – “SHIFT” (feat. Kid Cadaver)

“SHIFT” is a contagious, angsty pop success from Chatrooms, a band based in the San Fernando Valley. They pursued a more hardcore/screamo aesthetic upon their formation in 2009 — named At Our Expense at the time — and now strut a radiant, pop/rock arsenal alongside those aforementioned inspirations. Screaming vocal ferocity takes hold amidst wailing guitars as the final minute approaches, while the track’s first half enamors in its pulsing pop creativity. Chatrooms and guest Kid Cadaver have crafted a strongly memorable track in “SHIFT.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
