photocopy – “Temperate Weather”

/

Oklahoma City-based band photocopy meld alt-rock emotion and shoegaze-y textures on new single “Temperate Weather,” described as about “coping with loss through delusions that your future self will make everything right.” A delectably raucous array of guitars and dexterous percussion open the track with thrilling immersion.

The percussion remains vibrant as the track shifts seamlessly into a comforting vocal tone and glistening guitar accompaniment, cohesively moving into ardent blasts upon the “I can make it worth it,” vocal striving. The “twenty years,” referencing to delusional future hopes is particularly impactful, as is the track’s strong melodic drive and rock sound in general.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
