Raphael Davison – “Emily’s Song”

/

Another memorable track from Raphael Davison, “Raphael Davison” enamors with a beckoning folk radiance. The track is a follow-up to last year’s “Time Takes Time,” which caught our ears with jangly, hooky appeal.

“Emily, how are you feeling?” Davison’s warming vocals meld with frolicking guitars, wondering about whether the titular person is “feeling blue — and I’m feeling blue too.” The further push to “go on without me,” stirs, escalating with melodic intensity amidst thematic urges to move on. “Emily’s Song” is another quality piece of songwriting from Davison, who describes the single as about “the bittersweet emotions of letting go and moving on,” whilst capturing “the poignant moment of saying goodbye while holding on to an unbreakable connection.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
