The debut single from Belgian project Ginger Pops, “No Sign Of Mind” fuses electro-pop atmospherics and grooving funk/soul intertwining with contagious immersion. Comprising producers Cedric Laridon and Guy Fellemans, Ginger Pops deftly incorporate their shared and differing abilities — particularly Laridon’s electronic chops and Fellemans’ funky guitar output.
A dreamy wordless vocal backing and electronic lead, urging to “keep up the pace,” intrigues from hazy pads into sharp bass undercurrents and playful synth adornments. A brass-laden infusion past the one-minute mark bolsters the riveting soundscape, as do doses of twinkling keys — while the backing vocal character maintains a dreamy composure, with sophisti-pop nostalgia. “No Sign Of Mind” is a stylish, replay-inducing debut from Ginger Pops.
