kevin. stuff. and things. – “An Ordinary Day”

Engaging with a sense of mourning and adoration within a piano-led radiance, “An Ordinary Day” is a recent track from kevin. stuff. and things. The project caught our ears with the atmospheric synth-driven track “The Air” in February, and continues to impress here with “An Ordinary Day.” A more ballad-ready aesthetic compels here, expanding from quainter piano-set introspection into an expressive vocal soulfulness at mid-point — also joined there by buzzing synth immersion. Sincere emotion rings throughout. As the artist explains: “in late 2024, a friend decided to leave us. i was thinking about him, and what he left behind, when i wrote this.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
