“I Will Stand” is a memorable new track from Raphael Davison, who describes the release as “about standing up with those who are demonized and vilified.” Pulsing, warming guitars and a reflective vocal feeling combine seamlessly. “You’re breaking free of the lies they blame on you,” a cathartic overall unveiling compels, into the bright “stand beside you, brother / I will help…” reassurances. The drive to support those who are vilified, despite differences, is heartwarming — and poignant in times of particular division. “Only love stops the rain,” Davison sings during an impactful rise, wisely conveying how only brightness can defeat darkness. It marks another success from Davison, who has caught our ears in the past with tracks like “Time Takes Time” and “Emily’s Song.”
