A warming, hypnotic rock and dreamy pop intertwining stirs on “Sign,” a new single from PYNKIE. The vocals maintain a lush and steady tonal disposition throughout, seamlessly complemented by twanging guitars and serene additions — from twinkling synths to the concluding sound of bird-chirping.
A melodic, replay-inducing sound succeeds here from PYNKIE, the project of New Jersey-based artist Lindsey Rae Radice. Full-length Songies fully enthralled us a couple years ago, and “Sign” continues to showcase Radice as a fantastic songwriter with a tendency for lushly absorbing atmospheric productions. She describes the track as “an ode to synchronicity, full of hope and curiosity, for anyone who’s ever felt like the universe might be giving them a little wink.”
The track takes inspiration from Radice’s lucky number 37, and further explores “the idea of spiritual guidance and intuitive alignment—how subtle signals, whether symbols or moments, can feel like reassurance from something beyond.:
“Sign” comes via PYNKIE’s upcoming EP Big Feeling, out on July 4th.
