A memorable new take on Audio Adrenaline’s 1993 hit “Big House” comes via thurane, whose twangy, heartfelt rock sound enamors throughout. The release marks a streak of continued success for thurane, a worship leader and singer-songwriter who crafts a consuming vein of Christian rock. His 2020 EP : authentic worship : drew praise for its melodic, immersive sound, and the high-quality songwriting continued with singles “Redeemer” and “Lead Me To the Cross.” He is also a co-founding member of Phoenix-based Christian rock band New Jerusalem and adult contemporary Christian duo Kenyon Grey.
Playful guitar twangs and steady percussion craft an inviting introduction, as the lyrical musings on where one calls their “Home” compel into a larger introspection on life’s values. “Come and go with me, to my father’s house,” the vocals beckon during the memorable, radiant central hook — and tactfully emitting the warm, welcoming nature of one’s heavenly home and place with God. The “lots of land where we can play and run” invokes that sense of personal catharsis and freedom, set enjoyably within an aptly approachable rock production. “Big House” marks another definitive standout from thurane.
