Spencer Sanders – “Healing”

/

Utah-based singer-songwriter Spencer Sanders crafts a touching, memorable sound on new track “Healing,” capturing the process of healing through personal differences amidst a sound that spans from melodic rock crispness to orchestral pop. “I wanted to sonically bring together two opposing genres—orchestral pop and yacht rock—in a way that symbolized two people healing despite differences,” Sanders explains. “‘Healing’ is rooted in the idea that with enough love and effort all rifts can be bridged.”

A sweeping orchestral grandiosity takes hold immediately, as lavish strings tug at the heart. Tender, blues-touched guitar twangs meld with Sanders’ warming vocals, admitting “I can’t forgive myself until I know I made you stronger.” The strings then re-emerge amidst the glistening guitars as Sanders’ vocals attain an emotively gripping ascent. “Too many times I bottled up the way that I’ve been feeling, but my darling this time it’s time for healing,” he culminates, with the “never gonna give up” soulful backing refrain punctuating the central hook with enthralling qualities. “Healing” is a fantastic, heartrending showcase in songwriting from Spencer Sanders.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
