A nostalgic rocker from The Spumonies, “Take a Look Around” consumes with a hooky and relatable charm — fondly reminiscent of The Replacements in its amiable retrospection. The Brooklyn-based solo project of NJ native Evan D. excels with a guitar-driven sound, complemented by lyrics that ponder how “nobody told us those days would end” in reference to a fading childhood.
