Go-Machine – “Black Sunday”

/

Austin-based act Go-Machine emit a charismatic sound melding funk and prog-rock allure on new track “Black Sunday.” Breezy guitar tones quickly ascend into a rhythmically inclined passion, shifting seamlessly into a funky bass crawl and swipes of guitars as the vocals exude a debonair charm. “Dancing up a hurricane, spinning like a wheel,” they let out. “You saw a double rainbow, while you were searching through a field.”

The title-touting segment enamors in its infectious quality and arrival into brass-laden charm, as the vocals caution “don’t let me catch you again.” A smoky, inviting guitar solo precedes that; the track in general dazzles with its variety of funk-inclined instrumentation, especially as the brass and organs hit past the two-minute turn. “Black Sunday” is a sweltering, stylish success from Go-Machine.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
