A ghostly, enthralling track from Vodník, “Nowhere To Be Found” consumes in its chilly atmospherics and artful sense of momentum. The project of Philadelphia-based artist Eric Delagrange melds vulnerable lyricism — “I don’t know just where to turn / With my back against the wall” — with trickling, nocturnal guitars and moody bass. Delagrange’s vocal work is also outstanding; he has found ample success as an international opera singer, and the emotively gripping delivery here is certainly captivating.
The “please just let me in” beckoning further intrigues, reminding fondly of Wild Beasts in the quivering vocal tone and ensuing, spacious “goes without saying” interlude — then capped off by a gorgeous incorporation of lingering guitars and rhythmic flair. “Nowhere To Be Found” is a standout showing from Vodník.
