Found Space – “nostalgia”

/

Enthralling us back in 2023 with single “Shatter,” Found Space continue to strut a gorgeously spacey melding of shoegaze and dream-pop on recent single “nostalgia.” It’s an apt title, as there’s a warming likeness to ’90s alt-rock and shoegaze — particularly in the vein of Spiritualized.

“Sometimes, I can’t explain what it feels like,” hazy vocals let out as a spacious blissfulness emerges after textured guitars and rhythms. An ascension in vocal pitch, just before the one-minute turn, combines with the re-emergence of layered entrancement — and into an anthemic burst of guitar distortion and vocal passion directly after. It makes for another resonating standout from the project of Spen Oliver and Lillian Christopher, representing the second single off their upcoming sophomore EP, cloud study.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Dream-Pop.
