Bad Brain – “Endless”

/

A heartfelt guitar-driven pop and rock synergy shines on “Endless,” the second track from Bad Brain. Its production reminds fondly of The 1975 and Last Dinosaurs in its hooky, electronic-touched alt-pop amiability. The stellar release also features mixing by Grammy-nominated engineer Jackson Haile and mastering by Gerhard Westphalen.

“The song was written after a breakup where loving someone felt like being trapped inside your own heart,” Bad Brain explains, with the central hook — “end this, set me free…” — conveying that painful “cycle of grief and longing.” Its range of bursting guitar tones and more muted, electronic-friendly glistening makes for a climactic enjoyment throughout, centered around a delightful title-bearing hook.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
