The Dead Hearts – ‘Plight Goes On’

The Dead Hearts charge into their new album Plight Goes On with a fierce, emotionally driven blend of alternative metal and post-grunge. Formed in Lublin, Poland and rooted in a true DIY spirit, the band channels heavy riffs, raw vocals, and melodic intensity into a gripping, hard-hitting new chapter.

“For What May Never Come” kicks off the album with a sweltering hard-rocking invigoration. “Don’t make me wait, I’m struggling,” the opening vocals lament as crunchy guitar riffs and steady rhythms build with charismatic momentum. “Far away from here,” they continue with feverish passion, into both memorable introspections — “and what should I do?” — and more upfront ardor. Ensuing track “Lost Not Gone” is another gem, equally impressive in its range of intensified rock vigor — “don’t let go!” — and “your walls, your thoughts in this world” more subdued intrigue.

Standout track “Shining Star” is particularly indicative of the act’s ability to channel anthemic, replay-inducing energy — wasting no time in its onslaught of fierce guitar riffs and twangy bolstering. Soaring vocals compel with their elongated tonal delivery, with the “shine as a star” culmination exuding a haunting quality in its sense of contemplative finality. Album finale “All The Same” is also a delight, reminding fondly of early Manic Street Preachers in its foreboding, escalating beckoning and ardent backing vocal reflections. Plight Goes On is a definitive hard-rocking success from The Dead Hearts.
