Fondly reminiscent of Roxy Music in its suavely impactful post-punk and art-pop synergy, “Slingshot Vestibule” is a new track from Damnesia. A thumping bass ferocity and ghostly keys combine with a steady vocal unveiling, complemented by a brass-like vigor just prior to the one-minute turn. Stabs of synths further the infectious sense across the next minute, while the vocals exude an enthusiastic uptick relative to the initial verses’ nonchalance. That charisma continues into the “I’m entangled” bustle, there showing enjoyable shades of Talking Heads. “Slingshot Vestibule” is a stylish success from Damnesia.
